Plastic Card Services has won a commendation in the SME of the Year category at the 2011 Print Week Awards.
Named as runners-up and only narrowly missing out on the top spot, the judges said that “PCS’s ability to shine in the face of strong competition from China made sure they had a hard time deciding.”
The winner of SME of the Year was First 4 Print Finishing, with AJS Labels and Headley Brothers Digital completing the shortlist.
PCS received recognition for its international client base – for whom they produce 50 million cards per year – and their exports going from zero to 25% of turnover in the past 12 months.
The Print Week Awards have hundreds of entries every year and involve over 30 judges from across the industry, making it by far one of the most prestigious awards in the calendar.
On winning the commendation, PCS Managing Director Rob Nicholls said: “The standard of the competition was extremely high and to get runner up in the SME of the Year category is a great achievement for PCS, and really highlights the hard work we have put in this past year.”
The Print Week Awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 24th October.
