PCS wins at Macclesfield and Wimslow Business Awards

Precision Card Services (PCS) has won the Business of the Year Award at the Macclesfield and Wilmslow Business Awards 2011.

The award, which was won in the category for companies with a turnover of up to £5 million, acknowledges ‘companies that demonstrate all-round excellence in business’.

Other businesses shortlisted for this award were BlueCoffee Networks Limited, and Car Loan 4 U.

Tony Jones. Managing Director at Orbit Developments presented the award, while the judges commented: “This business stood out because of the impressive growth in turnover over the last year, with significant research and development taking place into methods of how to improve the green credentials of their products over a growing domestic and international client base”.

The Macclesfield and Wilmslow Business Awards aim to highlight and celebrate the successes and talents of businesses from around the Macclesfield and Wilmslow area.

PCS is one of the UK’s leading producers of commercial cards and services. It was established in 1994 and now has 68 employees working from its purpose-built manufacturing plant in Tytherington Business Park in Macclesfield.

On winning the award, Precision Card Services’ Managing Director, Rob Nicholls, said: “It is important that local and smaller businesses are supported, and this is what these awards are about. To win SME Business of the Year is a great achievement for PCS, and really highlights the quality of our work and the effort our employees have put in not only for this year, but also looking towards the future.”

PCS was also shortlisted in the Sustainability Award category, for its work developing its innovative ‘green‘ card, which is made from biodegradable materials and manufactured using environmentally responsible print processes

The Macclesfield and Wilmslow Business Awards took place at the Capesthorne Pavilion, Capesthorne Hall, on Thursday 10th November.
