North West based Plastic Card Services (PCS) has announced two new appointments to support the company’s expansion in Europe.
Andy Simpson, 47, has been appointed as operations director and will have the overall day-to-day responsibility of the business.
Andy joined PCS as an account manager in 1998 and was quickly promoted through the ranks to sales director in 1999. During his time with PCS, the business has expanded significantly from having a £1 million turnover and six staff to its current position of a £5 million turnover and 68 staff.
On receiving his promotion, Andy said: “My new role involves combining my expertise in sales and in the production process to give customers more product choice and an overall better experience in terms of customer service, value and care. Particular emphasis will be on our biodegradable technology as 2011 will be a defining year as companies seek to improve their green credentials.”
Adam Unsworth, 33, has been appointed as sales director and will be responsible for implementing and delivering the company’s ambitious sales plans and exploring new business development opportunities.
Adam has been with PCS for nine years and was responsible for introducing the company into the Scandinavian market, where it is now regarded as one of the leading providers of biodegradable card services.
Adam commented: “Plastic Card Services is an ambitious company and there are a number of exciting challenges ahead as we introduce more innovative products to our existing and new customers. My ultimate goal in this new role is to increase the turnover of PCS and I will be devoting my energies in improving the company’s overall sales performance to achieve this goal.”
