Plastic Card Services (PCS) has boosted its manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a new plastic card punching system for plastic key fobs.
The Cheshire-based plastic card manufacturer has invested £200,000 in the Oasys progression punch in response to a dramatic increase in demand for its key fob card products during the past year.
Adding the new specialist equipment will enable PCS to meet the requirements of some of its major clients as they extend their loyalty scheme offering to include key fobs, particularly within the retail, leisure and hotel sectors.

The Oasys progression punch has a proven industry track record for reliability, quality and high volume production. With the new punch, PCS will be able to manufacture products such as double gift cards, hanger cards and the snap-off product range. The equipment also has the versatility to switch to standard plastic card punching for added productivity.
Nicholls continued: “The use of key fobs is becoming increasingly widespread with many big brands now using them as part of their customer loyalty schemes. Recent advances in technology mean that key fobs can include more applications than ever before and I expect to see their popularity grow in the future.”
PCS has invested £2 million over the past two years in equipment and card manufacturing processes. Earlier this year, it upgraded its Atlantic Zeiser printer, to be the first company in Europe to offer white DoD (Drop on Demand) personalisation on plastic cards. It has also expanded its premises in Macclesfield, Cheshire, by 50%, increasing its annual card production capacity from 50 million to 80 million.
