Precision Card Services (PCS) has delivered a further loyalty card order for long-standing client, Stena Line, taking the total cards produced for the ferry company to over 200,000. Macclesfield-based PCS has worked with Stena Line for over 13 years to manufacture and fulfil its Business Traveller and eXtra card schemes.

Stena Line began working with PCS in 2000 and has adapted in line with the client to deliver an innovative, environmentally conscious card solution. Heather Gawley from Stena Line explains: “We originally chose PCS for its professionalism, range of services and keen pricing, but we’ve continued to source our cards from the team thanks to their outstanding customer service, flexibility and dedication to innovation.

“In particular, around 2 years ago, we wanted to move to a more sustainable type of plastic card, so we worked with PCS to find a solution that met our needs.”

Working in partnership, PCS and Stena Line migrated the card supply to a bio-PVC product which is manufactured and personalised using a waterless print process, and biodegrades in as little as three years.

As well as manufacturing Stena Line’s Business Traveller and eXtra cards, PCS also handles personalisation and mailing for both schemes via its state-of-the-art fulfilment service. Using cutting edge camera match technology and a comprehensive quality control process, PCS ensures complete accuracy and precision.

“We pride ourselves on developing positive, long-lasting working relationships with our clients, so it’s fantastic to be entering our 13th year of working with Stena Line and hitting the 200,000 card milestone,” said Andy Simpson, director at PCS. “As well as delivering excellent day to day service, it’s also been great to grow and develop with the company and help it lead the way in terms of sustainable innovation.”

PCS supplies two Stena Line loyalty schemes – Business Traveller and eXtra. The former is a personalised card which offers frequent business travellers 15 per cent off on-board shopping and dining, as well as stepped discounts on their travel according to the number of return trips they make on the Irish Sea routes. eXtra card members receive one point for every £1 spent, with points redeemable against future bookings.
