Plastic Card Services (PCS) has made its debut on international television on Dutch news programme, Nieuwsuur, as part of a best practice report into how British businesses work overseas.
PCS garnered the interest of the Dutch news programme when it was selected for The Guardian Small Business Best Practice Exchange Exporting Award 2012. The company was chosen by a panel of leading business figures for its partnership-led approach to export growth, and its successful growth of overseas sales to 10 per cent of annual turnover in the past 12 months.
PCS works with a number of high profile brands outside of the UK including Danish pharmacy chain, Matas, and grocery store, Coop Danmark, through its plastic card agent Logocard. PCS was praised for its approach on these accounts, focusing on product innovation and creating solutions to meet specific market demands. In Scandinavia for example, the focus on the environment led to the creation of the bioPVC card, which decomposes when composted in around three years and utilises a waterless print process.
“The team has worked really hard to build the exporting side of the business, so to win The Guardian award was a great recognition of the approach we’ve taken, and to be approached by a foreign news team was really exciting. It’s not something that happens every day and the exposure has been brilliant,” said Adam Unsworth, sales director at PCS
